He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Robert Harold Murphy; his stepfather Bobby Powell; his mother Nanette Powell; his children, Tabitha Holbrook (Gene) and Adam "Bubba" Murphy (Tiffany) of Thomson; his sisters, Debbie Wilson of Alabama, Cheryl Sturgill of Dearing, Shannon Beane and Lisa Davis of Lincolnton; and his grandchildren, Evan Holbrook, Bryar Holbrook and Adler Murphy. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
