He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Truman May and Julia Emma Heath May; his wife Shirley G. May; his sons, Larry May and Daryl May; and his great grandchild Alexis Rae Story.
He is survived by: his children, Julianne May Martin (Jim), Susan May and Johnny May; and his sisters, Inez Rabun and Miriam Usry (J. H.). He is also survived by nine granddaughters, two grandsons and thirteen great grandchildren.
