With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Johnnie Carter of Thomson, Georgia, born in Wrightsville, Georgia, who passed away on May 21, 2021 at the age of 90. He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Carter and Alma Riner Carter; his wife Betty Jean Pounds Carter; his son Johnnie Carter, Jr.; and his siblings, Kenneth Carter and Mary Carter Smith.
He is survived by: his daughters, Gail Carter of Thomson and Ann Carter Rollins (Charles) of Thomson, Georgia; his siblings, Russell Carter of Englewood, Colorado and Judy Carter Smith of Cochran, Georgia; and his grandchildren, Heath Rollins, Chris Rollins and David Carter. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Per CDC requirements, the family will be observing social distancing, and masks are requested and appreciated.
