It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Tankersley of Thomson, Georgia, who passed away on December 16, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, J. H. Tankersley and Effie Clara Tankersley; and his sister Dot Whitener (Tankersley). He is survived by: his siblings, Mary Dunaway, Billy Tankersley (Wanda) and Frank Tankersley; and his nieces and nephews, Fred Dunaway, Lawson Tankersley (Carol), Rhonda Byrd, Hank Tankersley (Julie), J. T. Tankersley (Dena), Wesley Whitener, Mary Ann Land (David), Julie O'Rourke and Daniel Whitener (Kelly). He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
