He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Wilson Newsome; and his parents, Charles A. Newsome and Mary Ashley Newsome. He is survived by: his daughters, Cheryl Newsome, Cynthia Nelson and Karen Stewart; his siblings, Douglas "Buddy" Newsome (Lydia), Sara Crawley and Louise Lazenby; and his grandchildren, Jamie Stewart, Chris Stewart (Lauren) and Brandon Cason. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Beggs Funeral Home (799 Cobbham Rd, Thomson, GA 30824-4058). A graveside service was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Westview Cemetery (507 Westview Dr, Thomson, GA 30824).
