She was predeceased by: her parents, James "Jim" Murphy and Beatrice Rowe Murphy; her sister Kathryn Purnell; and her siblings-in-law, Juanita Murphy and Bill Beck.
She is survived by: her husband Walley Thigpen; her children, Ben Thigpen (Suzi), Chris Thigpen (Mallory) and Elizabeth J. Thigpen Kraps (Johnny); her siblings, Arnold Murphy, Larry Murphy and Mavis Beck; and her grandchildren, Garrett Byrd, Ava Thigpen, Jackson Thigpen, Caroline Thigpen and Hannah Thigpen-Kraps.
