He was predeceased by: his parents, James Garnett Holtzclaw and Edith Sims Holtzclaw; and his siblings, Jimmy H. Holtzclaw, Winston Holtzclaw, Nettie Friis and Marjorie Jett.
He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline A. Holtzclaw of Thomasville; his children, Damon Holtzclaw (Tabitha) of Douglas, GA, James Holtzclaw (Stacey) of Valdosta and Kristie Carpenter of Tifton; his grandchildren, J. J. Holtzclaw of Valdosta and Casey Carpenter of Tifton; and his brothers, Billy Holtzclaw of Barney and Charles Holtzclaw (Nancy) of Valdosta. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
