We are sad to announce that on November 24, 2024, at the age of 93, Shirley Chastain Carter of Thomasville, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmo Chastain and Helen Chastain; her husband Billy Carter; her children, Carol Vining, Vali Carter and Wesley Carter; her great grandchild Austin Phillips; her sister Patricia Seitz (Pat); and her brother-in-law Percy Warren.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Sharon Cochran and Kenneth Ashley Floyd; her sister Miriam Warren; her cousin Bobby Knapp; her brother-in-law Erwin Seitz; her daughter-in-law Elisa Carter; and her nieces and nephews, Jim Seitz, Steve Seitz (Bev), Greg Vaughan (Connie), Laura Seitz Palmer (Charlie) and Paige Vaughan Ballard (John).
A graveside service was held on Sunday, December 1st 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Laurel Hill Cemetery.
