She was predeceased by: her parents, Sumner Gibbs and Sudie Gibbs; her husband John W. Searles; her daughter Barbarba Ann Searles Ryerson; and her siblings, Nelda Searcy, Jack Gibbs, Gerald Gibbs and James Gibbs.
She is survived by: her son James Travis Gibbs (Amy) of Thomasville; and her grandchildren, Julie Ryerson Dinkins, Eric Ryerson and Amber Gibbs Niswonger. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
