She was predeceased by: her parents, David Dewey Peters and Lillie Mae Hobby; her grandchild Shirley Waters; her former husband James Spears; and her brothers, Ernest Peters, Hurbert Peters and Aaron Peters.
She is survived by: her children, Patricia Truitt (Fred) of Thomasville and Norbert C. Cannon of Thomasville; her grandchildren, Charlotte Hancock (James) of Thomasville and Jamie Truitt (Michele) of Thomasville; and her great grandchildren, Arline Erven (Donny), Mitch Tanner (Cortney), Kayla Willis (Levi), Alaney Higgins (Donovan), Katelyn Hancock, Victoria Rountree, Randall Crowe (Tabitha) and Nolen Crowe (Jaeascha). She is also survived by 13 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
