She was predeceased by: her parents, Medford Atkinson and Annie Lee Gandy Atkinson (Preston Charlie Hurst); her son Douglas Lee Hurst; and her siblings, Lois Atkinson Hurst and Lester McKelvin.
She is survived by: her children, Judy Hurst Brown and Albert Charlie Hurst (Pamela) of Thomasville; her daughter-in-law Lenora Hurst (Douglas); her grandchildren, Wendy Brown, Jill Hurst Brinson (John), Julie Hurst Anderson and James Preston Hurst (Angela); her great grandchildren, Griffin Anderson, Carlie Anderson, Preston Hurst, Anna Hurst and Piper Hurst; and her stepgrandchildren, Jennifer Howell, Billy Grisham, Andrew Brinson (Shayna), Amanda Brinson (Yashuah Hills) and Ansley Brinson. She is also survived by eleven step-great-grandchildren; six step-great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, the American Heart Association, or the charity of your choice.
