She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Young Stephens and Elizabeth Harvell Stephens; her husband John Oscar Gainous Jr.; and her granddaughter Kaitlyn Brianna Trotman. She is survived by: her children, Sherry Stephens (Lee) of Whigham, John Reggie Gainous (Brittany) of Calvary and Justin Gainous (Lana) of Cairo; her stepdaughters, Carolyn and Kristenia; her grandchildren, Dustin, Danielle, Kyle, Lacy, Kevin, Cody, Kolby, Jayce, Kyler, Peyton and Matthew; her great grandchildren, McKenna, Gracelynn, Rosalynn, Emersyn, Carson and Kyle Jr.; and her siblings, Patricia Trotman, Shirley Pyles, Nancy Hester, Angel, Billy Stephens, Michael Stephens, Johnny Stephens and Teddy Craven.
