She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Gilbert and Ella Harrison Gilbert; her siblings, Herbert Gilbert, Ernest Gilbert, Herman Gilbert, Robert Gilbert, Neva Shores, Lorrette Willis and Lessie Leslie; and her grandchild Heather Champion.
She is survived by: her spouse Claude E. Champion; her children, Janice Beckham (Steve) of Boston, Curtis Champion and Charles Champion of Thomasville; her sister Hazel Keyton of Thomasville; and her grandchildren, Christopher Champion (Paula), Marcus Champion (Sabrina), Amanda Champion, Brittany Champion, Brooklyn Champion and Hope Cedeno.
