She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Lee Benton and Beulah Estelle NeSmith Benton; her husband Howard Franklin Chance, Sr.; and her siblings, Doris Lewis, Larry Benton, Herman Sherrod and W. L. Benton.
She is survived by: her children, Carol Horne (Damon) of Richmond Hill, Peggy Davis (Neel) of Thomasville and Franklin Chance of Thomasville, GA; her grandchildren, Stephanie Fielding, Tommy Harper (Kristie), Chris Harper (Mandy), Mackenzie Quesenberry (Quentin) and Cathryn Young (Nathan); her great grandchildren, Kyle Harper, Noah Harper, Emily Harper, Sophie Harper, Abby Fielding, Austin Fielding, Phoenix Quesenberry and Griffin Quesenberry; and her brother Alvis Benton (Tina) of Norman Park.
