He was predeceased by: his parents, Zelna Thomas Meeks and Viola Epps Meeks; and his siblings, John William Meeks, Sarah Frances Johnson and Mary Evelyn Shelton.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Guy Meeks of Tennille; his daughter Felicia Alva Meeks of North Carolina; and his stepdaughters, Sue Watson (James) of Warthen, Samantha Tompkins of Gibson and Jennifer Sheley of Dublin. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
