He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Eugene Rymer and Judy Elms Rymer; and his brother Ricky Smedley. He is survived by: his wife Pamela C. Rymer of Tennille; his children, Cherie Ens (Michael), Albert Gaither, Jerry Jackson and Kyle Jackson (Mildred); and his sisters, Robin D. Martin of Sandersville and Tammy Johnson of California. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren.
