He is survived by: his daughter Patricia Ann Middlebrooks; his granddaughter Eureka Middlebrooks; his great grandchild Cameron Mack; his sister Jessie Mae Lucas; his sisters-in-law, Catherine James, Geraldine James and Erie James; and his goddaughter Lena Harris. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
