She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Barnett and Catherine Franklin Barnett Chastain; her husband Fred Toby James, Sr.; her sons, Charlie James, Clifford Scott James and Terry Dean James; and her sisters, Ina Mae Barnett and Annie Mae Barnett.
She is survived by: her children, Nancy Jeanette Furgerson of Temple, Brenda (Johnny Wade), Shirley Rushing of Bremen, Alice (Jerry Couch), Sheila (Billy Jordan), Cathy (Roger Ballenger), Fred James, Inez James of Temple and Larry James of Temple. She is also survived by twenty eight grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
