He was predeceased by: his parents, Rexford Merritt and Louise Vickers; and his brother Wesley Merritt. He is survived by: his wife Emmalee Merritt; his children, Wes Merritt and Lana Hilderbrand (Jake); and his grandson Waylon Merritt.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Clark Funeral Home (4373 Atlanta Hwy, Hiram, GA 30141). A graveside service was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Bethany Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery (166 Bethany Church Rd, Ambrose, GA 31512).
