He is survived by: his mother Brenda Smith Buckner; his wife Norma Hardison Buckner; his son James Buckner; his sister Leann; his brother-in-law Brandon Burton; his brother Joe Buckner of Georgia; and his nephews, Joshua Buckner, Joe Meadows and Kyle Powers.
