He was predeceased by: his parents, James Forrest Woods, Jr. and Ruth Williams Woods; and his son Joshua Tyler Woods. He is survived by: his wife Malinda Leggett Woods of Taylorsville; his daughter Jessica; his son-in-law Aubrey Caverly of Taylorsville; his sister Cathy; his brother-in-law Mitchell Peak of Cartersville; and his grandchildren, Brooks Caverly and Livi Caverly.
