With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Elaine Hitt of Tate, Georgia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Elaine left this world on November 19, 2024 at the age of 99, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Reverend Howard Bruce and Alice Poole Bruce; her husband Joseph Hugh Hitt; her daughter Linda Hitt; her granddaughter Deanna Dorsey; her siblings, Ruth Ray, Mable Bryant and Russell Bruce; and her sons-in-law, Gene Roland and Bill Starkey.
She is survived by: her children, Shelby Starkey, Patricia Roland of Jasper and Jimmy; her daughter-in-law Cheryl Hitt of Waleska; and her grandchildren, Shannon Thompson (Ron), Lana Bruce (David), Stacy Bryan (Jamie), Jill Abercrombie (Tracy), Jeff Roland (Carrie) and Josh Hitt.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Roper Funeral Home and Crematory (206 Holly St, Jasper, GA 30143). A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Roper Funeral Home Chapel (206 Holly St, Jasper, GA 30143). A burial will be held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at the Free Hope Baptist Church (156 Free Hope Cir, Jasper, GA 30143).
