He was predeceased by: his parents, James Glenn Caldwell, Sr. and Dorothy Louis Smith Caldwell; and his son Jerry Caldwell. He is survived by: his daughters, Tina (Rodney Fincher) and Cheryl (Robert Edwards); his granddaughters, Tiffany Fincher of Tallapoosa and Hannah Fincher of Tallapoosa; and his great grandchildren, Kara Patterson of Tallapoosa and Olivia Bowmen of Tallapoosa. He is also survived by several other relatives and friends.
