He was predeceased by: his wife Louise Hightower; his great grandchild James Brantley Fitts; and his siblings, Houston Hightower, Homer Hightower, June Ella Davis, Sally Baldridge, Amie Stone and Jane Hightower.
He is survived by: his daughter Buffy Pam; his son-in-law Shane Strickland of Murphy, NC; his siblings, Rev. Harold Hightower of Ludville Community, Abe Hightower of Ludville, R. T, J. C. Hightower of Hill City, Frances Watson of Ludville and Willa Faye Hancock of Ludville; and his grandchildren, Ashley (Dustin Cain), Coty (Nicole Hunt), Brittany Fitts and Deston Hunt. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
