He was predeceased by: his parents, John Curlee and Mildred Vance Gibson; and his wife Janice Gibson. He is survived by: his children, James Owens of Newborn, Brian Gibson (Jacqui) of Woodstock and Jennifer Gibson of Talking Rock; his grandchildren, Katherine Gibson, Hannah Owens, Lauren Owens and J. P. Miller; and his sisters, Dena Herring and Alice Ann Gibson.
