He is survived by: his wife Anne Wimberly Thornton of Worth County; his children, Patricia Wells of Texas, Nancy Payne (Russ) of Texas, George Welch (Vila) of Texas and Lee Griffin (Caroline) of Atlanta; and his close friend J. R. Rawlins. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
