It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Russell Joseph Crew of Sylvester, Georgia, who passed away on April 3, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert B. Crew and Esther A. Mahoney Crew; his former wife Margaret McDonald Crew; his wife Carolyn Douglas Crew; and his sister Judith Heim.
He is survived by: his children, Jodie Smith, Russell Crew, Jr. (Sherry) and Kerry Crew; his grandchildren, Kristi Smith Gonzales, Amber Smith-Tays, Rachel Crew, Sara Crew Whitman, Maggie Crew Smith, Russell Crew, III and Jenny Grace Crew; his great grandchildren, Madison Gonzales, Turner Tays, Anabele Gonzales, Laura Gonzales, Natilee Gonzales and Winston Crew; his son-in-law Randy Smith; and his stepchildren, Juanita Massey, Paula Brown, Shane Douglas and Stephen Douglas. He is also survived by 5 step grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the Providence Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. A graveside service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
