He was predeceased by: his father Deacon John D. Sims; and his brother Robert Lee Sims. He is survived by: his mother Annie Dell Sims; his sons, Derrell Mosely (Carolyn) of Albany, GA, Stacy Sims of Atlanta, GA, Kasey Sims and Courtney Sims (Bridgche); his former wife Betty Sims of Atlanta, GA; and his siblings, Rev. Tiller Sims (Diann) of Oakfield, GA, David Sims (Vernell) of Oakfield, GA, Willie Sims (Coretta) of Columbia, SC, Verdis Sims of Oakfield, GA, Helen Jones (Dale) of Albany, GA and Annie Ruth Hardeman (Reginald) of Cordele, GA. He is also survived by six grandchildren, one great grandchild.
