He was predeceased by: his parents, David Lee Jones, Sr. and Ruthie Lee Clark; and his brother David Lee Jones, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Jocelyn (Brian), Jessie (Charlotte), Julius (Shatamula), Jerome (Jessica), Shakilya (Ladarius) and Davian; his stepdaughter Quatessa Hamilton; his sister Gloria Jones (Curtis); his nieces and nephews, Terrell, Reginald (Kelli), Kebia (Chris), Tomeka (Sanchez), Venecia (Trevor), Ken, Christopher and Melvin; and his close friend Jennifer Jones. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
