He is survived by: his daughter Laura Barnes (Jimmy) of Tifton; his grandchildren, Evan and Chloe Barnes; his siblings, Irvin Matthews (Carol), Larry Matthews (Sheila) and Sheila Giles; and his close friend Jean Daniel.
