He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles David Gaughf and Verlin Mae Youngblood Champion; his brother Douglas Gaughf; and his son-in-law Billy Whittington. He is survived by: his wife Clara Chapell Gaughf of Sumter, SC; his children, Franklin Eugene Gaughf, Jr. of Georgia, Charles Orvis Gaughf (Mary) of Georgia, John Paul Gaughf of Sumter, Tina Marie Whittington of Georgia, Wanda Lisa Harris (Michael) of Georgia, Karen Lynn Singletary (Michael) of Georgia and Audrey "Sissy" Burke (Michael) of Sumter; his brother Allen Gaughf of Georgia; and his sister-in-law Lorene Gaughf of Georgia. He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
