We are sad to announce that on April 8, 2025, at the age of 91, Elio M. Fernandez of Sylvester, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Elio departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Elio may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Elio leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his wife Jean DeVane Fernandez; and his stepsons, Vic DeVane and Tony DeVane. He is survived by: his children, Eliot Vidal Fernandez of Florida, Ruben Fernandez of Florida and Matra Fernandez-Yon of Cuba; and his stepson Tim DeVane of Georgia. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at 4621 Radium Springs Rd, Albany, GA 31705. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at the Hillcrest Cemetery (701 S Isabella St, Sylvester, GA 31791).
