We are sad to announce that on August 21, 2019, at the age of 75, Elaine Hood Tharpe (Sylvester, Georgia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Oliver Benjamin Hood and Elise Brown Nelms; and her sister Christine James. She is survived by: her husband James "Junkman" Tharpe of Sylvester; her sons, Jamie Tharpe of Sylvester and Jerry Tharpe of Savannah; and her siblings, Oliver Hood of Sylvester, Gail Dykes of Cairo, Janice Medders of Sylvester, Bertha Kamishlian of Leesburg and Josie Knight of Brunswick. She is also survived by five grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
