It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Charles Powell (Sylvester, Georgia), born in Brooks, Georgia, who passed away on October 30, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, David Harvard and Elizabeth Ethelean Hancock Powell; and his siblings, Rosaline Powell Alexander, Betty Powell Harris of Linda Powell, M. C and Wayne Powell.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Hutto Powell of Worth County; his children, Mike Powell (Donna) of Worth County, Lisa Powell Smith (Ricky) of Worth County and Maria Powell Bennett (Jason) of Worth County; his grandchildren, Kelsey Powell Campbell (Mani), David Powell (Taylor), Awsten Cleveland (Curtlyn) and Kaytlyn Bennett; his great grandchildren, Adalee Eddinger, Fisher Cleveland, Nadilyn Greene and Naomi Powell; and his siblings, Jack Powell of Worth County, Dale Powell (Amy) of Worth County, Alvin Powell of Worth County, Laverne Marchant (Harmon) of Tift County and Harriet Avery (Michael) of Turner County. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Banks Funeral Home (210 N Main St, Sylvester, GA 31791). A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Hillcrest Cemetery (701 S Isabella St, Sylvester, GA 31791).
