He is survived by: his children, Hazel Royal, Haley Royal, Melissa "Sissy" Royal, Amy Hodges, Michael Royal, Jr., J. C. Hodges and Matt Hodges; and his siblings, Sandra Maddox and Ronnie Royal. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
