She was predeceased by: her parents, Alex Tanksley, Sr. and Willie Mae Riley Tanksley. She is survived by: her daughters, Dr. Sandra Wallace Nethels of Sylvania, Cynthia Wallace of Charlotte and Constance Wallace of Charlotte; her granddaughter Jasmine Nethels of Sylvania, Georgia; her siblings, Alex Tanksley, Jr. of Sylvania, Georgia, Cleo Nobles (Charles) of Cumberland and Arnita Boyd of Sylvania, Georgia; her siblings-in-law, Lucille Scott of Savannah, Norma Wallace of Springfield, Florine Warren Tanksley of Sylvania and William Wallace of Springfield, Georgia; and her aunt Louise Coles of Sylvania, Georgia. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
