She was predeceased by: her father Curtis Ivey; her siblings, Nancy Irene Williams, Levon Turner, Alberta Ortiz, Audrey Bradshaw, Curtis Ivey Williams and James Harold Williams; and the father of her children J. C. Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Nancy Smith of Aiken, SC, Betty "Fro" Smith (Melanie Joiner) and James C. "Jim" Smith (Patti) of Sylvania; her grandsons, Zach Hyleman (Rebecca) of Charleston, SC and Jacob Smith of Sylvania; her great grandchildren, J. C. Hyleman, Charles William Hyleman and Caroline Ruth Hyleman; and her siblings, Joyce Wiggins of Statesboro and Donald Williams (Donna) of Hephzibah. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
