He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethel Mae Avret and Ray Kirby Powell, Sr.; and his siblings, Kirby Powell of Sylvania, Derward Powell of Rome and Lucy Jane Powell.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Hunnicutt Powell; his children, Pat Powell Gibson (Ralph) and Joseph Fenton Powell (Kim); his siblings, Sue McLeod of Chattanooga, TN and Charlie Powell (Sara) of Social Circle; his grandchildren, Truie Gibson of Aiken, SC, Will Gibson (Katelyn) of Evans and Caleb Powell (Becky) of St. Simons Island; and his great grandchildren, Paxton, Addie Powell, Madison and Conner Powell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in the name of Mr. Powell to the Sylvania.
