He was predeceased by: his parents, Wiley Lee Sims, Sr. and Carrie Mae Bell Sims; his grandparents, Eula, Gordon Carswell, Essie Mae and George Sims, Sr.; and his great-grandparents, Carrie Lou and Collin Bell.

He is survived by: his sons, Deshon Taylor of Augusta, GA., Armanie Sims of Swainsboro and Se'phon Wiley Lee Sims of Swainsboro; his brothers, Timothy Sims (Tamara) of Dallas and Halbert Sims of Jacksonville, FL; his granddaughter Saig Williams; and his close friends, Jackie Smiley and Jimmy Shanks.
