She was predeceased by: her parents, John A. Hooks and Burnell Fordham Hooks; her husband Kenneth Gay; and her siblings, Connie Newsome and J. W. Hooks.
She is survived by: her siblings, Ronnie Hook of Naples, FL and Hazel Harris of Horton, AL; and her close friends, Topekia Carswell of Swainsboro, Willie Williams of Swainsboro and Vickie Bird of Swainsboro. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Chapman Funeral Home (427 N Main St, Swainsboro, GA 30401). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at the Swainsboro City Cemetery (1 Lewis St, Swainsboro, GA 30401).
