He was predeceased by: his son Jimmie Amerson, Jr.; his grandson Joseph Allen Amerson, Jr.; and his siblings, Loucille Logue, Wilma Akridge, Jackie Hadden, Byron Amerson, Lauvasia Amerson and Charles W. Amerson.
He is survived by: his wife Lucy Amerson of Swainsboro; his children, Carolyn Brinson (Billy) of Swainsboro, Elizabeth Way Swainsboro (David) and Allen Amerson (Becky) of Swainsboro; his grandchildren, Mandy Lively (Billy), Brook Clements (Josh), Billy Brinson, Jr. (Mandi), Joey Amerson, Marshall Amerson, Bethany Way and Noah Way; and his great grandchildren, Maci Lively, Lenox Lively, Sydney Lively, Amelia Grace, Drake Clements, Dawson Clements, Bentley Brinson, Blakely Brinson and Finley Brinson. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
