He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Ralph Morris and Dorothy Hazel Hall Morris; and his wife Lorraine. He is survived by: his children, Jerry "Gene" Morris Jr. (Susie) of Charlotte, NC and Amy Morris Whitaker of Savannah, GA; his brother Wayne Morris (Wrena) of Adrian, GA; his grandchildren, Hunter Austin Whitaker and Hannah Nichole Whitaker; his great grandchildren, Parker Reed Smith, River Lee Whitaker, Sadie Claire Whitaker and Weston Milton Brown; his nephew Danton Wayne Morris; and his nieces, Jamie Allison Morris and Stefanie Jill Spann.
