He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Glisson Ely; and his sons, Howard Ely, Ronald Ely and Jerry Nunn. He is survived by: his children, Larry Dean Ely (Teresa) of Dellwood, Wayne Nunn of Dunwoody, Tony Nunn (Jana) of Swainsboro, Linda Faye Hall (Donald) of Swainsboro, Deborah Hadden (Charles) of Swainsboro, Joan Achey (Steve) of Ridgeville, SC., June Johnson of Dellwood, Mary Ann Brantley (Morris) of Swainsboro and Sybil Wilkerson of Swainsboro; and his siblings, James Ely of Blackville, Leland Ely of Soperton and Doris Thigpen of Swainsboro. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
