He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Lee Newsome and Nell Scott Hackle; his former wife Mary Ellen Newsome; and his brother Lonzell Newsome. He is survived by: his wife Sonia Newsome of Swainsboro; his children, Michelle Cowart (Rob) of Richmond Hill and Andy Newsome of Ormond Beach, FL; his stepson Jay Howard (Lauren) of Vidalia; his sister Janice Deloach of Swainsboro; his grandsons, Colby Howard and Lane Howard; and his pets, Scooter, Chesley and Spot. He is also survived by several other family members and many close friends.
