She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Slater and Madge Bedgood Slater; her husband Nolan Beckworth; her brothers, Paul Slater, Sr., Willie Slater, Jr. and Lester Slater; her son-in-law Curt Beckum; and her great grandchild Grant Hill.

She is survived by: her children, James Earl Sherrod, Jr. of Stillmore, Ronnie Sherrod (Teresa) of Oak Park, Shirley Stapleton (James) of Swainsboro, Cindy Moore (Kenneth) of Swainsboro, Dorothy Beckum of Cobbtown and Cynthia Sherrod of Stillmore; and her siblings, Wayne Slater (Shelby) of Stillmore, Sarah Mosley of Stillmore and Kathy Beecher (Bobby) of Oak Park. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren with one on the way; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
