It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Garland Thompson (Swainsboro, Georgia), who passed away on June 1, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar A. Thompson and Iris Wilson Thompson; his grandparents, Eugene and Callie Youngblood Thompson; his wife Betty Jean Thompson (Lawson); his stepmother Sallie Bell Thompson; and his brother Jimmy Thompson.
He is survived by: his son Terry Eulgene Thompson (Annette) of Douglasville, GA.; his brothers, Rev. Clarence Thompson (Mildred) of Avera, GA and Robert "Bobby" Thompson (Wilma) of Lithonia, GA.; his grandchildren, Kacy Hucks (Steven) of Norfolk, VA and Riley Thompson (Trent Turner) of Roswell, GA.; and his great grandchildren, Haddy Hucks, Hunter Hucks and Tegan Turner. He is also survived by Nieces, nephews and extended family.
Thompson was a tree farmer; past President of the Emanuel County Agri Business Council for 2 years, the Reubin Thompson Memorial Foundation for 5 years; and former member of the Exchange Club.
