She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry L. Ely and Lillie M. Johnson; her husband Oswald Thigpen; and her siblings, Ruby Cannady, H. B. Ely and Barnett Ely.
She is survived by: her daughter Raquel Allen (Mark); her sibling LaGail Avery (Ben) of Orianna; her sons, Kendall Thigpen (Alisa), Franz Thigpen (Geanna) of Swainsboro and Michael Thigpen (Melba) of Dublin; her grandchildren, Justin Allen (Crystal) and Ridge Allen (Cheyenne); and her brothers, James Ely and Leland Ely. She is also survived by twenty four great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.
