He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Jordan Bedgood and Mattie Caraway Bedgood; his siblings, Verlyn Bedgood, Lynwood Bedgood, Willie Bedgood, Bessie Bedgood, Madge Slater and Joyce Thurman; and his grandson Benton Canady.
He is survived by: his wife Florence Bedgood of Swainsboro; his children, Barbara Ely (Ricky), Regina Canady (Larry) and David Bedgood (Angie); his grandchildren, Ricky Ely (Malia), April Scott (Vince), Adam Ely (Lindsay), Mac Canady (Caroline), Corey Canady (Cassidy) and Josh Bedgood (Andrea); and his great grandchildren, Colby Scott, Jaycee Scott, Ace Ely, Emily Ely, Kaleigh Ely, Maddison Ely, Zada Ely, Bristol Ely, Layla Ely, Elias Bedgood, Cannon Bedgood, Easton Bedgood, Josh Bedgood, Jaxson Bedgood, Kayla Crabb, Rhet Crabb, Ethan Bedgood, Tee Bedgood, Harper Canady and Logan Fleming. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many friends.
