He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Allen and Meryl Elizabeth Maddox Howell; his sisters, Kathy H. Sowell and Janis H. Turner; and his grandson Carson Howell.
He is survived by: his wife Eva Jane Howell of Ty Ty, GA; his children, Joel Howell (Bebe) of Fairhope, AL., Lori H. Weaver (Terry) of Warwick, David Howell (Beth) of Ty Ty and Matt Howell (Marnie Lynn) of Austin, TX; his grandchildren, Kristina Howell, Whitney Howell, Joel Howell II, Heath Weaver (Taylor-Beth), Miranda Tibbetts (Michael), Tyler Mullis (Emma), Harrison Howell, Gracie Howell, Bay Howell, Ryder Howell and Parker Howell; his great grandchildren, Patrick Tibbetts, Bristol Tibbetts, Jack Tibbetts and Millie Wren Weaver; his siblings, Allen Howell (Nell), Ronnie Howell (Delores), Sherill Howell and Beth H. O'Kelley (Andy); and his aunt Vera Barbee Howell. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
