He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Wood Barnes and Otha Mae Boyd Barnes; and his parents-in-law, Roy Cavin and Frances Cavin. He is survived by: his wife Katie Cavin Barnes; his son Jeff; his daughter-in-law Chris Barnes; his grandson Jaden Barnes; his daughter Becky Barnes; his stepgrandsons, Brian Wimbley and Alex Wimbley; his brother Ralph; and his sister-in-law June Barnes. He is also survived by several Brothers-in Law and Sisters-in-Law, Nieces and Nephews.
